Lizzie and Carlo were married at St Mary’s Church in Chiddingfold followed by a reception at Ramster Hall, two very beautiful Surrey venues that created a wonderful setting for their elegant, classic wedding.  I was excited to be booked for their wedding photography and arrived early to document the girls getting ready that morning, Lizzie was very calm and everything was going to plan at that stage.  After that I popped in to photograph the boys and the final parts of their preparations, all looking very smart in their suits.  No matter how much planning goes into a wedding, there’s sometimes things that don’t go to plan on the day; it’s the nature of the beast.  There were a few hiccups that morning, the main ones being Lizzie had misplaced her much needed contact lenses which resulted in Carlo emptying their honeymoon suitcases over the floor of a car park (he found them in the end!).  Then unfortunately the vintage bridal car broke down with Lizzie and her father in it en route to the church!  A friendly local farmer stepped in to get the bride to the church on time, I’d love to say she arrived by tractor but he just used his car!  Anyway, she made it and was welcomed to a lovely, touching and personal wedding ceremony by a friend of theirs.  Then it was on to Ramster for the celebrations to begin.  This was a truly multicultural wedding with guests that had flown in from all around the world so the speeches were spoken in a few languages to make everyone feel welcome.  The best man double act was hilarious and their speech was based on giving Lizzie a series of gifts to help her through life with her new husband.  Some unusual gifts to say the least!  Once the band started up the couple took to the floor for their first dance and guests soon joined them to throw some very enthusiastic shapes on the dance floor.  I do like a busy dance floor at a wedding with guests really letting their hair down, it’s all good fun.  Thanks Carlo and Lizzie for inviting me to be part of your fabulous wedding day, wishing you every happiness as man and wife.
