Wedding Photography at The Assembly Rooms, Bath

Victoria and Daniel’s wedding was a big one and where better to host nearly 200 guests than the grand Assembly Rooms in Bath owned by The National Trust.  I started my day with Victoria at her house which was packed with parents, bridesmaids, hair and makeup stylists and the atmosphere was one of nervous excitement.  After the arrival of the two beautiful wedding cars it was time to set off for the Assembly Rooms.  The Georgian ceremony room looked amazing with decorative high ceilings and huge chandeliers and a string quartet welcomed guests on arrival.  As Victoria and Daniel are in the Navy there were plenty of guests looking very smart in their full uniforms and witnessing the sword arch was one of the highlights of the day for me.  After a good photo session and drinks reception it was on to dinner in the glamorous Ball Room, with a speech between each course in a nice twist of tradition.  The Father of the Bride’s speech was one of the most moving I’ve ever come across, very personal and loving, it was clear to see what a special person Victoria is and there was not a dry eye in the room.  The day ended on a high though, with much merriment and dancing, a fabulous luminous chocolate fountain and a vast amount of cheese!  Many congratulations to Victoria and Daniel and thanks to Andrew Gosling for inviting me to second shoot for him.
